BOOKISH THOUGHTS:
I have been in the most awkward headspace lately. I’m finishing up the first draft of easily my most personal book yet, and the ending is proving to be kind of paralyzing even to write because I legit built it up for over 90,000 words. Now if the ending sucks, that’d be quite the letdown for sure.
This book is handling some tough stuff like bullying, and the psychological results of it. Nothing graphic, but I’m ripping open some old wounds, and it’s been painful – but important at the same time. My hope is that after publishing this story, maybe I’ll stop feeling like a victim and starting living my life in the present, you know? I’ve been blessed with some amazing friends, one of which is pictured here 🙂
Over time, I’ve been blessed with some amazing true friends, but it was certainly not easy getting there. Patience was key I guess, and I think after what I’ve already been through, I appreciate my real friends even more ❤
So naturally, the ending of my newest book has to be epic. Like, super-duper epic and nothing short of amazing. Tall order? You betcha.
I’m also talking to an independent publisher, Black Rose Writing, and hoping to score a book deal with them for this project. It would be insanely awesome to get to publish in a more hybrid way, as up until now, I’ve published stories myself via Kindle Direct Publishing. And there’s nothing wrong with that, but I think it’s normal to want to grow and evolve, especially in the professional realm.
That being said, my YA time-travel romance will be available hopefully sometime in early-mid 2020. I honestly have no idea when exactly but that’s when I’m hoping for it to be out. I’m going to release the title probably after the first draft is finished (just on the off-chance I change my mind – but that’s probably unlikely at this point).
