What’s more festive than science fiction?

Hello, and welcome to my TED talk on why Christmas and scifi are basically the same thing – JUST KIDDING, LOL. But one thing about Christmas that works well? It’s really, really cold. And cuddling up with a good book is probably a smart idea.

You could read any book, but I happen to write YA scifi fantasy, and if you’re even remotely into The Hunger Games or Divergent, I think you might really like them. Check out the synopsis for book one of The Upperworld SeriesThe Sorting Room:

Who decides where we are born and who we love?

Luna is an immortal entity in the Upperworld learning how to assign human souls to the body and life they’re intended for. Onyx is her mentor and guide there, teaching her everything she needs to know about assigning souls and dispatching them to Earth.

Everything goes well until Luna’s friend makes a major mistake and Luna is sent to earth after covering for her. In her absence, an unbelievable secret is revealed that changes everything she thought she knew about how the world works.

Will Luna survive long enough on Earth to fix things? Or will she succumb to the pressures and pitfalls of living life as a human girl before the entire system unravels?

OR, if you happen to be more into romance à la John Green… check out the punk rocker in Just Like a Pill: Who Knew the Boy of Her Dreams Would Fall Under Her Spell?

It’s based on a real-life crush (although all names and situations have been changed to protect the innocent, LOL).  I’ll never reveal anything more than that, but it was my debut novel, and I’ve been told it’s entertaining (which is one good thing that came out of the heartbreak, I guess). Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, see you on the flip side!

Best wishes ❤
